Located in Horsham, a few minutes from Horsham Station, Arthur Lodge Veterinary Surgery is an independent practice run by caring and experienced vets. Our team of permanent vets and nurses are dedicated to providing the best of care to your pets and are constantly receiving trainings as well as undergoing qualifications to keep abreast of the latest innovations in veterinary medicine.
Our history:
The earliest records for Arthur Lodge show that the practice was started in the late 1850s by John Callow MRCVS and was based in Carfax. During those days, the surgery mainly treated horses although some evidences suggest that other exotic and expensive animals such as prize bulls and rams were also treated at our practice.
By 1900, Arthur Lodge had moved to North Street and was owned by Robert Pinching. Over the years, it continued to develop by moving to Queen Street in the 1930s and then to its current site in 1963 with a number of owners including Sam Smith, Harold Laker, Ralph Brookes, John Wildgoose, Bryan Green and Julian Peters.
Our veterinary practice has changed considerably since its early days, and we now treat all sorts of animals including, of course, cats and dogs but also exotic pets such as reptiles and birds.
